Abstract or summary
Renewable Heritage has shown that the sustainability and efficiency of energy in historic homes can be furthered by sensitive and appropriate use of clean energy generation systems. Such systems help minimise the risk of fuel poverty amongst householders in these homes, without adversely affecting the historic and architectural character of these valuable buildings.
Leading by example, the Renewable Heritage project demonstrates how the sustainability of traditional and historic homes across Scotland can be improved, enabling them to contribute to local and national carbon reduction targets.
